Interview with Myself: Louise Kaestner

This is as difficult as it is easy. Since 2023, I have harrassed various staff and students on campus and Unilodge for a community garden. It's fair if I answer some questions. Here is my interview for Louise Kaestner.

How long have you been at Curtin?

Since May 2022.

What faculty are you from?

Student in Humanities studying a Double Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Professional Writing and Publishing. I like to say BA stands for Bullshite Artiste. The bullshit I'm good at. The art needs improving.

What is your speciality area?

None. However, I am passionate about creating a better world for all.

What do you like about the garden idea?

That SDG2: No Hunger is addressable through this medium. There are plenty of people on campus dealing with food insecurity.

What don’t you like about the garden idea?

That I can't walk into the highest ranks of Curtin University dressed as a bounty hunter with a wookie in tow and a thermal detonater ready for release and get the funding and support I need.

What potential do you see stemming from this seed?

It is limitless. My mind just zones out at the various applications for this.

What is your investment in the garden idea?

My personal spiritual energy.

Do you think that the garden idea will move forward? If so, when?

I've lost hope.

What do you see as the best source of funding?

Grants and sponsorships from within and without the university. However, if I could snaffle a social media whiz or too, I reckon community crowd funding might work.

What is your favourite plant?

Anything native, medicinal or edible.

What is your least favourite plant?

Weeds.

What kind of plant are you?

Anyting native Western Australian.

Synthesis of Louise Kaestner's Answers

Louise Kaestner (that's me, but I must keep SEO happy) thinks for herself and sees how a community garden addresses food insecurity and SDG2: No Hunger. However, she tends to be blunt and prefers to disintigrate red tape by any means necessary, including explosives. Her explosives are words, or that is what she is aiming for. She's not as good a writer as she thinks she is, but, a prerequisite for all writers is a healthy set of delusions on their talent countered by a willingness to accept constructive criticism. She would like to see the community garde happen. In fact, Louise Kaestner has already planted a food forrest in her mind on the old Curtin Veggie Patch site which is disused.

This is a goal that the community garden addresses.

I acknowledge the Whadjuk People of the Noongar nation who are the Traditional Custodians of the land, sea and air that I live, study and work on. I also acknowledge the Yamatji People who are the Traditional Custodians of my birthplace. I give, with a willing soul, due regard to all Indigenous Peoples across the globe and all Elders past, present and future. Furthermore, I recognise the inherent value of Indigenous connection to country and Indigenous spiritual belief systems. First Nations People occupied Australia prior to colonisation. No white law will ever change that.
